Expect Winds Gusts of 50 to 60 mph Today

(UNDATED) – Wind gusts of 50 to 60 miles per hour throughout today will cause tree damage, power outages, and travel difficulties across central Indiana, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

West winds will be between 25 to 35 mph with gust up to 60 mph.

Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in lower levels of your home during the windstorms and avoid being around windows. Use caution if you must drive.

Temperatures will fall throughout the day.

The high wind advisory is in effect until 9 p.m.

Another system will bring more rain late this week into the weekend.

Rain may mix with snow at times early Friday and again late Sunday. Heavy rain is possible on Saturday.
