  • Ham
  • Mashed potatoes and gravy
  • Mac and cheese

Smokin’ Jim’s will smoke 40 turkeys and 40 hams for the event and entertainment will be provided by the Bedford North Lawrence orchestra students, Riley Elise and Ed and JoAnna Cobb.

The meal is completely free for all to enjoy. Janice Nickeo-Pendergass says to remember to invite family, friends, and neighbors to the event.

If you are elderly or disabled and need a meal delivered call Bertha’s Mission at 317-480-0085 before Friday, Nov. 21 at 3 p.m. to put your name on the meal delivery list.

You will also have a chance to win a Thanksgiving food basket. Each basket will have everything you need to make a delicious Thanksgiving meal at home.

Bertha’s Mission is seeking donations of desserts for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. They will be sending these desserts out with the delivery meals which will number more than 300. Things like cupcakes, cakes, pastries, and cookies would be great for this since they are easy to portion out into single servings. If you are able to make a donation, contact Atalie Klumpp at arklumpp@gmail.com.

Brent Maudlin, State Farm insurance agent, thanked the staff, students, and parents at Fayetteville Elementary for their “Act of Kindness”. The total number of donations for food drives held at Stalker, Parkview Intermediate, Parkview Primary and Fayetteville was more than 1,040 food items.
