(BEDFORD) – A Bedford man was arrested after a Bedford Police officer was called to the 1700 block of I Street Sunday afternoon about a possible drunk driver in a parked vehicle.
When police arrived they found a male who appeared to be sleeping in the vehicle.

Police identified the male as 40-year-old Steven Sykes.
“Sykes showed the usual signs of intoxication,” says Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore. “He gave officers consent to search his vehicle.”
During the search, officers found a crystal-like substance was that tested positive for meth and several pills identified as a Schedule IV controlled substance.
Sykes was arrested on charges of public intoxication, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of meth and possession of a controlled substance.
