Roy Leon Arthur, 83, of Springville, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at IU Health Bedford.
Born December 9, 1935, in Popcorn, Indiana he was the son of Thelma (Walker) and Cleveland Arthur. He married Virginia Meadows on May 8, 1954, and she preceded him in death on January 12, 1994.
Roy worked in maintenance at RCA where he retired in 1997. Roy was a member of AMVETS in Bloomington.
Survivors include her children, Robin (Nancy) Arthur, Roy Dennis Arthur, Tina (Chuck) Moore; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Craig, Becky (Jon) Self, Brandi (Brandon) Scott, Ginnie Moore, Maggie Morrow, Lydia Moore, Marisa Arthur; great-grandchildren, Colton Caraway, Haiven Caraway, Macee Caraway, Victoria Phillips, William Arthur, Maddy Babbs, Vylette Self, Marty Craig, Kaden Moore; siblings, Anne (Lester) Saunders, Margaret (Tom) Hess, Joe Arthur and Jewell Reuter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Jeanna Heckman; grandchildren Tiana Caraway and Kyle Davis; brother, Ray Arthur; sister, Maudie Owens; and a brother in infancy, James Arthur. Â
Funeral service will be on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Frank Ira officiating. Burial will follow in Beyers-Rainbolt Cemetery in Popcorn.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019, at Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes.
