Mary Lorene Guthrie, 88, of Mitchell, passed away Friday, October 11, 2019, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
Born April 21, 1931, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of William David and Lizzie (Horner) Boyles. Mary married William Robert Guthrie February 21, 1952, and he preceded her in death December 18, 2012.
Mary retired from M. Fine & Sons. She enjoyed caring for flowers, watching birds, and crocheting.
Survivors include her children, Stephen (Teresa Lynn) Guthrie of Lawrenceburg; Michael (Donna Parish) Guthrie of Mitchell; Jeffery (Diane) Guthrie of Mitchell; Sandra (Don) Lewis of Mitchell; Connie (Joe) Hill of Bedford; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren
brother, William David (Donna) Boyles, Jr., of Oolitic
Her parents; husband; and daughter, Cathy Guthrie, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 15th, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
