Fayetteville Lions Club Bean Supper Saturday

(FAYETTEVILLE) – The Fayetteville Lion’s Club Bean Supper, with all the fixings, will be held on Saturday at the Fayetteville Baptist Church located at 5458 State Road 158.

The event will take place from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The meal includes bean soup, fried potatoes, cornbread, slaw, a drink, and dessert for $7 at the door; those 6 and under eat free. Carryout is available.

The proceeds from the event are used for community projects.

The Fayetteville Lions Club helped construct a ballpark after they lost the baseball diamonds on the Fayetteville Elementary School property.

Those efforts began in 2009. There is now playground equipment, shelter houses, two baseball diamonds, and a barn to rent out for special events.

Proceeds are also used to help maintain current facilities and make upgrades.

In 2018, more than 200 children with 19 teams played baseball and T-Ball.

It takes more than 100 volunteers to run the scoreboards, umpire, coach, assistant coach, and prepare the fields for play.
