Hundreds of County Leaders to Attend October 4 Pretrial Summit

(INDIANAPOLIS) -The Indiana Supreme Court is hosting a county team-based training on pretrial practices.

The Pretrial Summit will take place on October 4 at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis.

Sessions will focus on Indiana Criminal Rule 26, pretrial risk assessment, the legal foundations of bail and pretrial release, best practices in pretrial supervision, and an overview of local pretrial practices.

All 92 counties will be represented at the Pretrial Summit. Local leaders in attendance may include judicial officers, prosecutors, defense counsel, law enforcement officers, sheriffs, pretrial services officers, probation and community corrections officers, county officials, and mental health service providers.

The Summit is sponsored by the Indiana Supreme Court, the Association of Indiana Counties, the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, the Indiana Department of Correction, the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council, the Indiana Public Defender Council, and the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association.
