Lawrence County Community Foundation Staycation Extravaganza

(BEDFORD) – Autumn is just around the corner and it is time to start thinking about the Lawrence County Community Foundation (LCCF) Fall Fundraiser.

Executive Director Hope Flores shared some of the projects LCCF is working on.

  • Upgrading their database and moving to an online grants software system to improve the process for grantees. Officials expect this transition to be completed by late summer/early fall of 2020.
  • Updating and redesigning the LLCF website to make it more user-friendly and compatible with the new online grants process. It should be completed by the spring of 2020.
  • Lilly Endowment (Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow) GIFT VII Initiative. There are multiple components to this grant. (Matching grant funds are available on a limited basis- only 4% of the match money is left! Many meetings and interviews are being conducted to determine areas of need for which LCCF can apply for a community grant. Proposals are due to Lilly Endowment in the spring.) GIFT VII is much more involved and requires LCCF to coordinate many board and community engagement meetings.

“With all these exciting changes at the Community Foundation this year, we are doing things a little differently for our fall fundraiser,” Flores said. “Normally, in October we host a dinner and enjoy celebrating philanthropic people, charitable grants and organizations providing needed services in our community.”

A Staycation Extravaganza on October 10th will be this year’s fundraiser.

“We ask you to enjoy an evening doing whatever you would like to do at your staycation,” she added.

You can show your support to the LCCF by donating to their Staycation Extravaganza. All proceeds will go to support work in Lawrence County. Donations are also eligible for a match for a limited time.
