Bloomington Man Arrested After Stealing Puppy

(BLOOMINGTON) – A Bloomington man was arrested after he allegedly stole a black labrador puppy from a bus stop Thursday night at Kroger on College Avenue.

The owner of the puppy, who she named Gary, told police that she tied the dog to the pole while she ran inside the store to purchase an item. When she came back outside the puppy was gone. A bystander told the woman that a man walked off with the dog. The woman then called the police.

Police found 20-year-old Logan Cofresi on Second Street by IU Health Bloomington Hospital with the puppy. Police say Cofresi was uncooperative. He finally admitted he had stolen the puppy and was arrested.

During a search of Cofresi’s person, police found a white substance that tested positive for meth. He was then charged with possession of meth
