(UNDATED) – The Gene B. Glick Company is kicking off the 2019 football season by announcing a new strategic partnership with the Indianapolis Colts.
The partnership is centered around food insecurity and is the latest illustration of Glick’s commitment to strengthening the quality of life in central Indiana.
“Social responsibility is one of our core values at Glick, and, for us, that includes access to healthy, nutritious food,” said David Barrett, president, and CEO at Glick. “We know that one in seven Hoosiers faces hunger and certainly many of them are Colts fans. This partnership with the Colts enables us to raise the visibility and urgency around food insecurity in central Indiana.”
Highlights of Glick’s partnership with the Colts include:
- Glick donating $200 to Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana for every field goal made by the Colts throughout the 2019-2020 season. Each $200 donation will equate to 800 meals provided.
- Glick team members volunteering outside Lucas Oil Stadium before the Colts’ Nov. 10 home game vs. the Miami Dolphins to collect canned food items as part of the Colts “Sacking Hunger” initiative.
- Glick team members joining the Colts for “Horseshoe Helpings,” the Colts’ annual event where they distribute Thanksgiving meals to more than 2,000 Indianapolis families in need.
“The Colts are so fortunate to partner with Glick to tackle the issue of food insecurity in the Indianapolis community,” said Kalen (Irsay) Jackson, Colts vice chair and owner. “One of our top goals is to help families succeed and communities thrive, so we’re happy to join another proud Hoosier company to help more people gain access to food and other resources that can make their lives healthier, happier and more stable.”
The Colts are the latest addition to Glick’s robust corporate social responsibility program. Last fall, Glick also formed a strategic partnership with the United Way of Central Indiana. In addition to offering paid volunteer time off, the company regularly hosts Glick Cares volunteer events around Indianapolis, as well as an annual Day of Caring. Since 2015, Glick team members, their families, and friends have served nearly 10,000 volunteer hours. Glick also offers a Glick Gives corporate matching program which has matched over $250,000 in team member donations to charitable causes to date.
