Traffic Switch Planned Next Week on I-65 NB/SB in Bartholomew County

(BARTHOLOMEW CO.) – Traffic switches are planned next week on I-65 northbound and Southbound as part of the I-65 reconstruction and added travel lanes project in Bartholomew and Jackson Counties.

E&B Paving Inc. will shift traffic on I-65 SB back to southbound lanes from MM 61.2 to MM 58.5 the evening of Tuesday, September 3, weather permitting. Traffic will shift back to northbound lanes from MM 58.5 to MM 56, and back to southbound lanes beginning at MM 56, north of State Road 11 at Exit 55 (Jonesville). Traffic will utilize crossovers to maneuver from southbound to northbound lanes and vice versa.

Additionally, E&B Paving Inc. will shift traffic on I-65 NB to southbound lanes from MM 58.5 to MM 61.2 the evening of Thursday, September 5, weather permitting. Traffic will shift back to northbound lanes at MM 61.2 using the existing crossover, south of State Road 58 at Exit 64 (Walesboro/Ogilville).

Motorists should continue to adhere to the 55 mph speed restriction and use extra caution in the ongoing construction zone between Columbus and Seymour. All trucks should use the left lane for travel.

The project is expected to be completed in August 2020.
