Purdue@Westgate Announces startups for 2019 Startup Showcase

(ODON) – Purdue@WestGate has announced startups selected for 2019 Startup Showcase to be held on August 6 at WestGate Academy.

Each team will have one minute to pitch their ideas during the Startup Showcase, to take place after the Annual Investing in Startups Workshop. There, innovators will pitch to the audience, including investors from Angel Capital Association (ACA), Queen City Angels, Elevate Ventures, and Evansville Regional Angel Network (EVVangelist).

The Purdue@WestGate startups being featured:

During the networking session (The Spirited Entrepreneur), startups will be available to talk about their technologies and investing opportunities.

“This is a great opportunity for those interested in learning about regional/local startups angel investing opportunities, especially for the early stage startups with so much potential to grow,” Samantha Nelson, program manager at Purdue@WestGate.

“Our team and partners are driving innovation by connecting and supporting startups, entrepreneurs and investors in southern Indiana,” said Jason Salstrom, director of Purdue@WestGate.

  • *12:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Fundamentals of Angel Investing Workshop (led by Stephen Baggott, a certified Angel Capital Association instructor), *registration required
  • 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Break
  • 4:30 pm – 5 p.m.: Startup Showcase – 1 minute pitch 
  • 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.: The Spirited Entrepreneur – Networking and Q&A
