Florida Man Arrested on Dealing and Possession Charges

(MITCHELL) – A Mitchell Police Officer assigned to the Lawrence County Prosecutor Highway Interdiction Team (H.I.T) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation Tuesday.

After making contact with the driver the officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana and requested assistance from another Mitchell officer along with an Indiana State Trooper.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and officers located more than 12 grams of heroin, 16 grams of cocaine, 106 grams of marijuana, 34 grams of ecstasy, and miscellaneous items of drug paraphernalia, and $300 in cash.

Police arrested 31-year-old Michael Stanley, of Sandford, Florida, on charges of dealing and possession of a narcotic drug, dealing and possession of a controlled substance, dealing and possession of marijuana, and resisting arrest in a motor vehicle.
