South Bend Police Officers Receiving Body Camera Upgrades Following Fatal Incident

(SOUTH BEND) – The fallout from a police officer shooting and killing a black man without his body camera activated has police in South Bend upgrading their body cameras.

Once the upgrades are finalized, police body cameras will activate the moment an officer draws their gun. That’s if it is not manually activated beforehand or if an officer does not turn on their flashing lights or travel at a high rate of speed in their police cruiser.

They plan to have the new holster censors equipped with all officers in the next 60 days.
