Indiana State Fair Wine and Spirits “Toast of the Fair” Competition Returns

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Among many new and exciting events, the 2019 Indiana State Fair will offer the return of Indiana State Wine & Spirits “Toast of the Fair” competition presented by Indiana Grown.

Professionals and amateurs can compete in more than 80 wine and whiskey classes. The amateur wine division will award in the category, Best of Show. On the professional side, prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, Indiana State Fair Wine of the Year, Indiana State Fair Traminette of the Year, and Indiana Winery of the Year. The Professional Whiskey division will award Best of Show, Indiana State Fair Whiskey of the Year and Indiana Distillery of the Year.

Fairgoers have the chance to enjoy a glass of the winning wines and whiskeys in the new Indiana State Fair Wine Garden presented by Indiana Grown, located just outside of the Purdue Extension Ag/Hort Building. Additionally, fairgoers can enjoy the Toast of the Fair Celebrity Grape Stomp on Friday, August 2 at 5 p.m. at the Indiana State Fair Wine Garden. During this first-time event, fairgoers can cheer on their favorite celebrity such as 93.1 WIBC’s radio personality Terri Stacy or EatDrinkIndy.com editor Jolene Ketzenberger as they stomp grapes and compete for bragging rights and a traveling trophy.
