Limestone Heritage Festival Begins Tonight

(BEDFORD) – The downtown area in Bedford will be bustling with activity with this year’s Limestone Heritage Festival.

There are several new features this year, including a bounce house provided by the Lawrence County CASA program, a magic act with Michael Charlatan and the Limestone photo contest at the Lawrence County History Museum.

The festival will officially begin tonight, but most of the food trucks will open at 11 a.m. today. Vendors will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. tonight.

The annual Bedford Rotary Club fish fry will run from 4 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thornton Park Pavilion.

A limestone carving exhibit will take place at the Downtown Depot from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and the photo contest will be in the meeting room at the Lawrence County Museum during the same hours. Those visiting the exhibit will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite photo for People’s Choice honors.

The beer garden will open at 6 p.m. and will continue until 11 p.m.

Summertime Band will be on stage in Harp Commons from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Stone Carnival will perform from 8:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

Food vendors include 812 BBQ, Corey’s Dutch Boy Double Decker, Judah’s Catering, Lawrence County BBQ Company, The BIG Cheese, The Fry Guy, Wever’s Smoke Eaters BBQ, Busy B’z Kettle Corn, Jiffy Treet, Kona Ice of Bloomington and Tiger Ear.
