Nineveh Man Injured in Off-Road Vehicle Accident

(NINEVEH) – Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an off-road vehicle accident in which an adult male was injured.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. Sunday, near the 9000 block of Sweetwater Trail in Nineveh.

According to officers, 58-year-old Richard Hogue, of Nineveh, was operating an off-road vehicle on private property in a wooded area. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle flipped, pinning Hogue underneath.

Hogue suffered back and chest injuries and was transported to Johnson Memorial Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Officers say Hogue was not wearing a helmet or proper safety equipment, and alcohol appears to have been a factor. Indiana Conservation Officers stress safe operation of ORVs and the use of proper protective equipment such as helmets.

Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted by Trafalgar Police Department and Johnson County EMS.
