Its Graduation Weekend At Indiana University

(BLOOMINGTON) – The Graduate Commencement Ceremony for IU-Bloomington students will be held today at 3 p.m. at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

The Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, at 10 a.m. at Memorial Stadium. This ceremony will be outside this year unless there are heavy rains and lightning. It the weather turns bad the ceremony will be moved to Assembly Hall. If moved because of the weather there will be two ceremonies one at 10 a.m. and another at 3 p.m. Undergraduates will know of the change no later than 5 a.m. Saturday. Officials say the outdoor ceremony could also be pushed an hour to 11 a.m.
Those traveling to graduation or Bloomington this afternoon and Saturday will face some traffic concerns.
One-lane one-way restrictions will be in place on 17th Street going to and from the ceremonies, but that could change depending on weather conditions.
Officials are urging commencement guests use alternate routes, such as traveling State Road 67 from Indianapolis to Spencer and then taking State Road 46 to the stadium.
Those not attending graduation ceremonies are encouraged to avoid 17th Street and the State Road 45/46 Bypass from around 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. today and from about 6:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
