(SPRINGVILLE) – Two women were injured Thursday morning after the driver lost control of her vehicle on State Road 54 East near Rueter Lane.
When police arrived they found a blue Toyota Camry had gone off the south side of the highway
Police say 49-year-old Michelle Fleenor was traveling east on State Road 54 when her vehicle hit a puddle of water in the roadway, causing the car to hydroplane and go left of center.
Fleenor overcorrected, causing the vehicle to run off the roadway and strike a utility pole spinning the car. The rear of the vehicle then hit a concrete culvert in the ditch.
Both Fleenor and her passenger, 30-year-old Jennifer East of Springville, complained of back pain and were treated at the scene by an IU Health Hospital ambulance crew
Mikels Wrecker service towed the vehicle and Duke Energy was contacted due to the damage to the utility pole.
