(MITCHELL) – A Mitchell man was arrested Friday after he admitted to police that he molested a 6-year-old girl.
Indiana State Police arrested 20-year-old Anthony Troxel on two felony counts of child molesting. He is being held in the Lawrence County Jail on a $5,005 cash or $50,000 surety bond.
According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, police began their investigation after receiving a report on February 21 about Troxel molesting a young girl.
The girl participated in a forensic interview at Susie’s Place a child advocacy center in Bloomington.
The girl told officials Troxel had touched her sexually and threatened to spank her if she told anyone.
The first incident happened in a “shed/trailer” Troxel was fixing up. The second incident occurred while the two were sitting on a couch while watching television.
The girl told officials that Troxel also made her touch him.
When police asked Troxel about the incidents, he admitted to the crimes.
