Four People Arrest after Two Guns Found in Dorm Room

(BLOOMINGTON) – Four people were arrested Saturday night after Indiana University police found two handguns, alcohol and marijuana in a Read Hall room.


According to IUPD Capt. Craig Munroe, officers responded to Read Hall after the residential assistant reported possible marijuana activity.
When officers arrived the four people in the room gave officers permission to search it.
They found a .40-caliber pistol, a .9-caliber pistol, ammunition for the weapons, alcohol, and marijuana. Capt. Munroe says the guns were not loaded.
Police learned the weapons belong to three of the people in the room who were from out of town.
Police arrested 18-year-old IU Student Senchelle Navarre and 18-year-old Joey Perez, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, minor in possession or consumption of an alcoholic beverage and contributing to or delinquency of a minor.
Perez was also charged with possession of a handgun without a license.
Police also arrested two minors ages 17 and 15.
