Philip Daniel Asbury – Mitchell
November 22, 1951 – April 14, 2019
Philip Daniel Asbury, 67, of Mitchell, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019, at his residence.
Born November 22, 1951, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Jesse and Malinda (Embree) Asbury. He married Sandra S. Taylor on April 7, 2005.
Philip retired from Dana Corporation and loved fishing, coon hunting, and his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra S. Asbury of Mitchell; children, Ricky Asbury of Germany, Anita Asbury of Germany; 2 grandchildren; siblings, Alan Asbury of Bedford, Luther Asbury of Mitchell, Timothy Asbury of Tennessee
His parents and brother, Tony Asbury, preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at Knott Cemetery with Pastor Paul Hare officiating. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Daniel J. Roush – Shoals
February 7, 1977 – April 12, 2019
Daniel J. Roush, 42, of Shoals, passed away on April 12, 2019, in Shoals.
He was born February 7, 1977, in Linton. He married January L. Ragsdale on September 30, 2000, in Shoals. Danny was a 1997 Graduate of the Shoals High School and was employed by Peabody Coal, Bear Run Mine. He was a dedicated Volunteer Baseball Coach for Shoals High School, was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan, and took great pride in maintaining Harding Diamond at Shoals High School.
He is survived by his wife January Roush of Shoals; two sons, Dalton Jay Roush and Carter Daniel Lee Roush; his parents, Jennifer and Richard Martin of Port Charlotte, Florida; one sister, Heather May of Bedford and his grandfather, Bob Bass of Sarasota, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Geneva Bass.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at the Shoals United Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 15th from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to The Harding Diamond through the Community Foundation.
The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
