Woman Arrested after Busting Out Vehicle Window with Hammer

(BEDFORD) – A Bedford woman was arrested after police were called to a home in the 300 block of Oolitic Road at 11:50 a.m. Thursday morning.

According to Bedford Police Chief Terry More, a woman was busting out the windows of a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the caller who said 30-year-old Jami Gray was upset because she needed a ride to work and the caller refused to take her.
“The victim said Jami became upset and started scratching which left the victim with cuts, redness and bleeding, and also slapped the victim in the back,” Chief Moore added. “Jami then made threats to damage the vehicle if she didn’t get a ride to work.”
The incident happened in front of two small children.
The victim refused to take Gray to work, so Chief Moore says she picked up a hammer and busted out a window on the vehicle and left.
Officers located Gray a short distance away, and after receiving a signed battery affidavit, she was arrested.
“Officers found a digital scale and crystal substance that tested positive for Methamphetamine inside her purse,” Chief Moore added.
Gray, of 5019 Leatherwood Rd, was arrested on charges of battery causing injury in the presence of a minor, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
