Lawmaker Wants High School Athletes Tested For Drugs

(INDIANAPOLIS) – One lawmaker in Indianapolis wants to see high school athletes in the state tested for drugs..


Republican State Senator Jean Leising says there are a number of parents who agree that a drug test should be required for student-athletes.
But the head of the Indiana High School Athletic Association, which oversees high school sports in the state, says high schools are already doing a fine job of keeping an eye on student-athletes.
The group isn’t keen to see the state require testing.
