(BLOOMINGTON) – A Bloomington man was arrested Friday after he left bruises on a 2-year-old boy.
Bloomington Police arrested 33-year-old Charles McBride on charges of battery and neglect of a dependent.
According to police McBride was watching his girlfriend’s toddler when the child’s maternal grandmother noticed bruises on the child’s ears and neck.
Police say she took the child to Rile Physicians group in Bloomington and the physician notified the Department of Child Services who then contacted police.
The child’s mother told officers that McBride was the only person who had been with the child before the injuries were noticed.
McBride was arrested Friday afternoon and is being held in the Monroe County Jail on a $15,500 cash bond.
