(UNDATED) – The light goose conservation order is a special national hunting opportunity to help control expanding populations of snow, blue, and Ross’s geese populations outside of the regular hunting season.
This order will be open throughout Indiana from Feb. 11 through March 31.
An Indiana hunting license, Indiana waterfowl stamp privilege, and a free permit are required to participate, though neither a federal duck stamp nor HIP registration is necessary.
The free permit and additional information are available here.
Shooting hours are from one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset.
It is legal to take light geese during the conservation order using electronic callers and/or shotguns capable of holding more than three shells.
There is no bag or possession limit for light geese during this conservation order.
Please report any banded geese taken.
