Four Arrested After Bedford Police Alerted To Drug Activity

(BEDFORD) – Bedford Police officers arrested four people on Tuesday night after receiving information about possible drug activity in the 1000 block of 24th Street.


According to Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore, when officers arrived at the home, they were met by a male at the front door and could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the residence.
“The male denied access to the house without a search warrant,” says Chief Moore. “Officers contacted the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s office and the on-call Judge granted and issued a search warrant.”
When officers returned, they found Robert Goldsberry, Starr Walter, Shanda Garland, and Roger McCoy inside along with meth, marijuana, narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
All four were arrested and booked into the Lawrence County Security Center at 7:39 p.m. on the following charges:

Robert Goldsberry, 25, of 1014 24th St., possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a common nuisance.

Starr Walter, 40, of 1014 24th St., possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.
