Frances G. Craig – Bedford
July 29, 1940 – January 9, 2017
Frances G. Craig, 76, of Bedford, died Monday, January 9, 2017 at Bloomington Nursing Home.
Born July 29, 1940, in Huron, IN, she was the daughter of Francis “Frank”Riggle and Doris(Terrell) Riggle Elliott. She married Vince Craig on February 16, 1957 and he preceded her in death on September 2, 2011. She was a homemaker and a member of the Silverville Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Fayetteville High School.
Survivors include two sons, Barry Craig, of Williams and Jeffrey Craig, of Bedford; two daughters, Michelle Craig and Kristine Craig, both of Bedford; eight grandchildren, Crystal Walton, Benjamin Robertson, and Heather Laster, all of Bedford, Dale Chastain and Jeremy Gaddis, both of Mitchell, Jaramyah Chastain, of Shelbyville, Rocky Brown, of Borden and Joshua Burnette, of New York; several great grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Ross, of Bedford; two brothers, Ralph Riggle and wife, Adah, of Williams and Larry Riggle, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Riggle and Doris Terrell Riggle Elliott; her husband, one daughter, Kimberly Burnette; a grandson, Dakota Burnette; step-father, John Elliott; step-mother, Mildred Riggle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 13th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Dennis Williams and Ron Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Silverville Missionary Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 12th and from 9 a.m. until the service hour on Friday, January 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Murle Kern – Cross Plains
May 17, 1937 – January 9, 2017
Murle Kern, 79, of Cross Plains, Indiana, formerly of Bedford, died at 3:24 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2017, at Waters of Clifty Falls Nursing Home, in Madison, IN.
Born May 17, 1937, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Hovie Jackson Kern and Lula Mae (Baker) Kern.
He was a widower. He had managed an auction facility and was retired. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea.
Survivors include one son, Terry Kern, Scottsburg, and one daughter, Denise, Indianapolis; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and five brothers.
Private family burial will occur in Old Union Cemetery. There will be no visitation hours.
