Mark Steven King, 62, of Mitchell, passed away Saturday evening, July 16, 2016, at his residence.
Born November 20, 1953, in Mitchell, he was the son of Hobart and Edith (Baldwin) King. He married Debra Kay Pridemore May 31, 1978. He retired from U. S. Gypsum and was a 1971 graduate of Mitchell High School.
Survivors include his wife, Debra King of Mitchell; children, Shawn (Jamica) King of Mitchell, Shayne King of Mitchell, Shandi (Joe) Gerkin of Oolitic, Crystal (Joe) Lott of Greenwood, Dustin King of Mitchell; grandchildren, Tressa Terrell, Ashlan King, Emma King, Donavan King, Marc King, Misha Smith, Alexis King, Clayton King, Shanda King, Shayla King, Olivia Gerkin, Reese Lott, Grace Mundy, Braxton Jones, Chayse Sexton; great grandchildren, Peyton Terrell and Cameron Terrell; siblings, Doug King of Springville, David King of Fayetteville, Claude King of Burns City, Warren King of Mitchell, Phillip King of Mitchell, Netha Wyman of Muncie, Jill Sutton of Evansville, Nancy Smith of Florida
His parents; and siblings, Ted King, Fred King, Rebecca Gregory, Donna Norton, and Rose Ella Middleton, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Cremation was chosen and burial will be at a later date at Port William Cemetery.

Darlene K. (Steele) McSoley – Bedford
March 17, 1933 – July 15, 2016
Darlene K. (Steele) McSoley, 83, of Bedford, died at 11:18 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at I. U., Bloomington, Hospice House, Bloomington, IN.
Born March 17, 1933, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Ruel and Marie (Ellis) Steele. She married Vollie McSoley on Dec. 19, 1953; he died August 31, 1993.
Darlene was a school educator for many years and then worked in the Psychology Department at I. U., Bloomington; she received her B.A. from I. U. in 1954 and her Master’s Degree in Education in 1960; she received her J.D. from I.U. in 1983 and practiced law in Bedford. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bedford, where she sang in the choir; was a member of Lawrence County Bar Association; was a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) attorney over 30 years; and a member of the Board of Directors of Green Hill Cemetery Association. She was very active in community affairs.
Surviving are her son, Patrick (Paige) McSoley, Bloomington; one grandson, Connor (Kylie) McSoley, Bedford; and two brothers, Byron (Ann) Steele and Brent (Sally) Steele, both of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Bedford, with Pastor Lee Brown officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, 2 p.m. till 8 p.m., at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford.
