Ernest M. “Mike” Fortner – Bedford
Ernest M. “Mike” Fortner, 70, of Bedford, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Indiana University Health Community Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born July 6, 1945, in Bedford, he was the son of Ernest W. and Alice M. (Sego) Fortner.
He retired as a federal law enforcement employee of the National Forest Service. Mike was also a long time employee of Jim Day Furniture and Appliance Store. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and member of the Free Methodist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Shannon (Donna) Fortner, Bedford; Timothy Scott (Jessica) Fortner, Orleans; grandchildren, Kody, Koral, and Krystina Fortner, Orleans; nephew, Stephen Howard Roberts, Bedford
His parents and sister, Donna F. Roberts, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 27, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
Cremation will follow.
