William F. “Willie” Phillips – Mitchell

William F. “Willie” Phillips, 93, passed away at 8 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2014, at his residence.
Born August 17, 1921, in Paoli, he was the son of William H. and Katie (Atchley) Phillips. He married Lucille “Tee” Stewart December 7, 1946, and she preceded him in death July 3, 2006.
He had been employed at Honey-Krust Bakery and retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center–Crane. After retiring, he was employed at Spring Mill State Park. Willie was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 228 F&AM, and the National Rifle Association. He loved Indiana University basketball and restoring cars. An U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he entered the service February 8, 1943, and served in Northern France and the Rhineland. He was a medic during the Battle of the Bulge, received four bronze stars, and was a member of American Legion Post No. 250.
Survivors include his children, Angie (Dave) Mercer, Indianapolis; Timothy F. Phillips, Mitchell; Anita (Mike) Stephens, Indianapolis; Kimberly (Brent) Todd, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Amelia and Andrew Todd, Matthew Mundy, Christine Shaffer, Sam Duggan, Aimee Mercer, Christine Hatfield, Michelle Mercer; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Helen Bruner, Paoli
His parents; wife; and siblings, Rachel Cottner, Harry Cottner, and Rosalie Milligan, preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 6, at Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Eugenia Fay Neal – Bedford
Eugenia Fay Neal, 67, of Bedford, died Saturday morning at IU Health in Bloomington.
Born in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of James (Jim) L. Baker and Imogene (Mollet) Baker. She enjoyed crafts and sports, especially Florida State football and IU basketball. She loved her family and her dog Banjo Bobby.
Survivors include her mother, Imogene Baker of Lynn Haven, FL; son, Rickie Neal of Laplata, Maryland; grandchildren; Joshua Danza, Kaitlin Neal, and Aiden Neal; brother, Rick Baker and wife Missy of Panama City, FL and their children, Genia, Charity, Kim, and Ryan; Aunt Shirl Anderson of Bedford; several cousins; previously married to Ronald D. Neal of Bedford for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Mark Brock officiating and music provided by Charity Kinneer. Burial will follow at Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Day & Carter Mortuary on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm and 10 am until the time of service on Wednesday.
