Rosalind K. Evans, 75, passed away at 2:07 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born April 30, 1938, Campbellsburg, she was the daughter of Richard Lawrence and Hattie Margaret (Harris) Compton. She married Gerald L. Evans September 15, 1956 and he preceded her in death March 10, 2001. She was a Senior Sales Director for Mary Kay cosmetics and had been associated with the company since 1971. Rosalind was organist and member of the First Baptist Church. She graduated from Campbellsburg High School in 1956. Her interests were art and music, and she was a member of the John Wallace Chapter of DAR.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Diane (Kia-Mark) Threehawks, Nashville, Lisa (Danny) Easterday, Orleans, Andrea (Thomas) McCord, Mitchell; grandchildren, Heath (Niki) Grissom, Shandi (Doug) Thomas, Tiffani (Josh) Gimple, Justin (Courtney) Barrett, Joshua Barrett, Jordyn McCord, and Sean McCord; step grandchildren, Jessica O’Connor-Fusch, Tyler Easterday, Tiffany Boelke, and Tara Cooper; great grandchildren, Shaylin Thomas, Grayson Barrett, Layla Barrett, Rylee Barrett, Josephine Talish, and Gage Gimple; step great grandchildren, Katie Sons, Braden Boelke, Ella McClellan, Brooke Boelke, Ava Cooper, and Alec O’Connor-Fusch; brother, Dwight (Mary Beth) Compton, Mitchell; several nieces and nephews
Her parents; husband; and brother, Edward Stephen Compton, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Reggie Clark and Reverend Bud Kielhorn officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center, and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the church.
