Patricia B. Pearson – Bedford
Patricia B. Pearson, 87, of Bedford, died at 12:47 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014, in Bedford.
Born August 18, 1926, in Bloomington, IN, she was the daughter of Robert G. Benckart and Marjorie (Peterson) Benckart.
She married Charles Watson Pearson on August 25, 1947, in Bloomington; and he survives.
She was a wife and mother; a graduate of Bloomington High School with the Class of 1944 and attended Indiana University, Bloomington; she was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Bedford; a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority having worked in the Sorority Thrift Shop;
member of Panhellenic; she volunteered with the Pink Ladies Auxiliary, Dunn Memorial Hospital; and was an active bridge player with the “Grubbies” and then the Thursday afternoon bridge group; and an avid golfer, having played with the Otis Park Ladies League.
Surviving are her husband, Watson Pearson, Bedford; one daughter, Patty Anne (Jim) Fossey, Lottsburg, VA; two sons, Michael W. (Nikki Annelli) Pearson, Eliot, ME and Stephen C. (Kathy) Pearson, Beavercreek, OH; four grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie) Pearson, Pasco, WA; Hayden Pearson, Eliot, ME; Kyle (Katie) Pearson, Brooklyn, NY; and Kory Pearson, Denver, CO; four step-grandchildren, Jamie (Tim) Sampey and Karin (Eric) Warden, both of Chicago, IL; Ryan Fossey, San Diego, CA; and Britt Fossey, Kailua, HI; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marjorie Wells; and two brothers, Robert G. and William E. Benckart.
The family wishes to extend special thanks, for their support and compassion, to the “A-Wing” nursing and aide staff of Stonebridge Health Campus and the third floor staff of St. Vincent, Dunn Hospital; and to Dr. Deborah Craton.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Bedford, with Fr. Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens, Bedford. Friends may call on Sunday, 2 pm. to 6 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford. The Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m.
