Dennis Lane Duncan – Bedford

Dennis Lane Duncan, 59, of Bedford, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at his residence.
Born May 22, 1954 in Bedford, the son of Eugene Laverne and Rozella Duncan. He was a graduate of Bedford High School with the class of 1972. He proudly served two terms in the United States Marine Corps during the Viet Nam War.
Survivors include his mother, Rozella Duncan of Bedford; a son, Scotty Duncan of Rapid City, SD; his companion, Teresa Spinks of Bedford; four brothers, Mark Duncan and wife, Pam, Larry Duncan and wife, Barbara, Dale Duncan and wife, Bobbie and Rick Duncan and wife, Patsy all of Bedford; several nieces and nephews, Jason Duncan, Angie Tidd, Justin Duncan, Kimberly Duncan, Sarah Terry, Matthew Duncan, John Coe and Lisa Duncan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Laverne Duncan and two nieces, April and Lori Duncan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11am on Tuesday, February 25th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Sherman Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Leatherwood Cemetery where military
rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Monday, February 24th
and from 10 am until the hour of service on Tuesday, February 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends are invited to sign the guest book and light a candle in memory of Dennis at www.daycarter.com.
Christopher E. Owens -Bedford
Christopher E. Owens, 31, of Bedford, died at 11:45 pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born October 3, 1982 in Beech Grove, IN, he was the son of Jan E. and Sherry (Risk) Owens. He attended the Free Methodist Church in Bedford.
Survivors include his parents of Bedford; a brother, Brandon Owens of Indianapolis; his paternal grandmother, Ruby Gail Owens of Bedford; aunts & uncles, Linda Conner and husband, Phil of Springville, Phil Risk and wife, Colleen of Greenwood; cousins, Brent Conner and wife, Alyssa, Holly Hartman and husband, Sam, Kristen Lester and husband, Ross, Jared Risk and Emily Risk.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Claude Owens, his maternal grandparents, Larry and Arminta Risk.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Monday, February 24th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor John Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, February 23rd at Day & Carter Mortuary.
