Gerhard (Gary) W. Gaiser – Bedford
Gerhard (Gary) W. Gaiser, 83, of Bedford, died at 3:25 am on Friday, November 22, 2013.
Born December 22, 1929 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Gottlieb and Frieda (Streif) Gaiser. He retired as the owner of Stone Clad, Inc. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War and WW II. He was a life-long member of the Elks Lodge, Lane Technical High School Alumni Assoc., Fraternal Order of Police, Gillen Post #33 American Legion, Cecil Martin Post #250 American Legion of Mitchell, Oolitic V.F.W., Bedford Boat & Sportsman’s Club, Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and the Air Force Assoc. He was the former director of The Indiana Limestone Institute, a former member of The Construction Specifications Institute, former vice president of The Indiana Limestone Co. and an Eagle Scout.
Survivors include the mother of their children, Betty (Merten) Gaiser of Bedford; two sons, Daniel Gaiser (Martha) of Holland, MI and Gary Gaiser (Sara) of Pella, IA; five daughters, Laurie Cooper and Lulu Sargent (Dave) all of Bedford, Jeanne Davis (David) and Patty Brown (Dave) all of Williams, Diane Maddox (Ted) of Bedford; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Hans Gaiser of Wheaton, IL; a sister, Margaret Peckel of Glen Ellyn, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Eric Michael Gaiser; a son-in-law, David Cooper; his wife, Wilma and his companion, Rae Ann Gardner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Monday, November 25th Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Rick Eldred. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery with military rites accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from noon to 6 pm on Sunday, November 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Kennth H. “Butch” Nicholson – Huron
Kenneth H. “Butch” Nicholson, 68, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2013, at his residence.
Born July 8, 1945, in Bedford, he was the son of David and Anna Mae (Boone) Nicholson, Sr. He married Ann Dolores Ball July 28, 1980. He retired as supervisor from the maintenance department at Mitchell Community Schools and was a 1964 graduate of Heltonville High School. Butch was an avid fan of IU Basketball and NASCAR racing.
Surviving: wife, Ann Nicholson, Huron; children, Bridget Deckard, Bedford, Brad Nicholson, Bloomington, Butch J. (Rhiannon) Nicholson, Franklin; 8 grandchildren; siblings, John (Phyllis) Nicholson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Stanley (Mattie) Nicholson, Heltonville, David (Linda) Nicholson, Bedford, Steve (Vivian) Nicholson, Bedford, Randall (Beth) Nicholson, Mitchell, Paula (Warren) Bartlett, Bloomfield, LuAnne Faubion, Heltonville, Donna (Leon) Bilbrey, Heltonville, Becky (Jim) Hicks, Bedford, Vicki (Elmer) Stidam, Norman, Beth (Jim) Wubben, Columbus, Gina (Wendell) Smith, Heltonville; 46 nieces and nephews.
His parents, and sisters, Judy Todd and Micki Nicholson, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. o6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, at Chastain Funeral Home &
Cremation Center.
Cremation was chosen.
