Idah Louise Short – Bedford
Idah Louise Short, 98, of Bedford died at 5:19 a.m.on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born September 7, 1915 in Indianapolis, IN she was the daughter of Robert and Agnes (Tremp) Peterman. She married Milton A. Short and he preceded her in death. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She also served on the Red Cross Board, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons: William Short of Bedford and Michael Short and his wife Ginny of Bedford; one daughter: Marjory Starnes and Jim Richardson of Bedford; two step sons: Larry Stearley and his wife Nancy of Gulf Shores, AL, and Gary Stearley of Riverview, FL; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Mungle, Andrew (Coby) Short, Abigail Henning, Sherry Stiles, Deanna Short, Debbie Short, and Kevin Hoopingarner; three step grandchildren: Amy May, Jennifer Hartman, and Heather Ledford; 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister Lillian (Tudie) Vicars.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the St. John’s Episopal Church with Father Charlie Carpenter officiating. A committal service will be at 12:30 p.m. at the Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family ask that friends consider memorial contributions be made to St. John’s Episcopal
Church.
