The following obituaries were received for Monday –


Charles Neil Cox, Sr. – Mitchell
Charles Neil Cox, Sr., 75, of Mitchell, passed away at 7:18 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013, at I.U. Health, Bloomington.
Born February 9, 1938 in Miami, FL, he was the son of George Cox and Doreen Julia (Payne) Cox. He married Sandra Bunch on January 23, 1971, and she survives.
He was a truck driver with Jefferson Trucking, retired and was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Cox, of Mitchell; three daughters, Kelly Staggs and Ronni Ann Wolcott, both of Mitchell; and Ronelle and husband Donnie Vandgrift, of Jeffersonville, IN; two sons, Brian Wolcott and wife Angie, of Bedford and Charles Neil Cox Jr. and wife Shannon, of Mitchell; one brother, Tom Cox and wife Martha, of Mitchell; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Debbie Henderson; one grandson, D. J. Arbuckle; one sister, Carolyn Duncan and one brother, Merrill “Sonny” Cox.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11am to 2 pm, at the funeral home.

Dottie Jane “Mimi” Compton – Lafayette
After 96 ½ years of a well-lived, beautiful life, Dorothy Jane Compton (Dottie Jane “Mimi”) rested from her mortal journey to embrace eternal peace and love with her beloved husband.
As a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and school teacher she touched countless lives with her kindness, compassion, joy, and impish humor. Once asked by her high school algebra teacher what grade she thought she deserved, she laid ground work for a new grading system in her future profession by responding, “A-minus question mark.” years of a well-lived, beautiful life, Dorothy Jane
Dottie Jane is survived by all of the family, friends, and students who had tremendous
fortune to know and truly love her. To all of us, she was an A-plus. No question mark attached.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at the Jacob
Finger United Methodist Church in Mitchell with a fellowship meal to follow the service. A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. in Mitchell Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the Jacob Finger United Methodist Church, Mitchell, Indiana Memorial Garden fund, to the Sunshine
Ministries of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church, South Bend, Indiana, or to
your favorite charitable organization.
