Ruby J. Clark – Bedford
Ruby J. Clark, 81, of Bedford, formerly of Paoli, passed away Saturday, at her residence in
Bedford.
Born December 12, 1931, in Breckinridge Co., KY, she was the daughter of Archie H. Lucas and Lula (Dugeon) Lucas. She married Hubert “Herb” Clark who preceded her in death on May 19, 1991. She had been a factory worker and homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, Randall H. Clark and wife Rachel, of Velpin and Kenneth Clark and wife Donna, of Bedford; two daughters, Lorna Miller, of Columbus and Janice Gray, of Bedford; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; one brother, Roy Lucas, of KY; and three sisters, Virginia Smith, Marie Sharp and Mildred Burton, all of KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Ricky and Lisa; one great grandchild, Gabriel; two brothers; and two sons-in-law, Jerry Gray and Joseph Miller.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with Bro. Frank Ira officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Horeb Baptist Cemetery, Orleans. Friends may call from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, and from noon until 2 pmWednesday, at the funeral home.

Gene “Jake” Mitchell – Franklin

Noel Gene “Jake” Mitchell, 82, a resident of Franklin United Methodist Community, formerly of Bedford, passed away at 10:22 am on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Franklin.
Born January 2, 1931 in Williams, he was the son of Dale and Lula Mae (Cheek) Mitchell. He married Rowena Owens on July 14, 1950 and she survives. He was an electronic technician at NWSC Crane where he retired in 1986. He was then an independent contractor for EG & G until retirement in 2001. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ, Air Steamers Club and was a member and past president of N.A.R.F.E. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife Rowena, of Franklin; a son, Mark Mitchell and wife Denise of Morgantown; three daughters, Jennifer Shirley and husband Nelson, of Bedford, Jill Brandon and husband Parkes of Nashville, TN and Penny Cobb and husband John, of Springville; a brother, Jim Mitchell and wife Sharon; a sister, Anna Louise McCain; grandchildren, Molly Mitchell, Christina Thompson and husband Chris, Andrea Rainey, Joseph, David and Michael Brandon, Jordan and Allie Cobb; great grandchildren, Gwennyth, Aidan and Katie Thompson, Marea and Lilly Enochs, Joslynn Tarr and Josiah Cobb; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Janet Ellen Mitchell and Pauline Brewer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm on Thursday, February 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bud Smith and Clovis Parsley officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Church of Christ Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, February 27th and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, February 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc.
Barbara Colleen Fitzgerald – Bedford
Barbara Colleen Fitzgerald, 79, of Bedford, passed away at 5:55 am on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Garden Villa in Bedford.
Born June 9, 1934 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Floyd and Floean (Bartlett) Allen. She married Jim Fitzgerald on December 30, 1950 and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and attended the Mundell and Bartlettsville Christian Churches.
Survivors include a daughter, Shelia Burks and companion Gary Workman of Bloomfield; a son, Mark Fitzgerald, of Norman; a granddaughter, Cheryl Burks-Ziegler, of Washington; a grandson, Darrin Burks and companion, Kellie Buskirk, of Bloomfield; five great grandchildren, Haley and Nick Burks of Bloomfield, Callie Ziegler, of Washington, Kylee Turpin, of Bloomfield and Stormy Scott, of Bloomfield; a sister, Norma Lawhead, of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Floyd Allen, Jr., Warren D. and Charles Allen; a son-in-law, Jimmy Burks.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday, February 28th at the Bartlettsville Christian Church with Rev. Tim Day officiating. Burial will follow in Bartlettsville Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, February 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 10 am until the hour of service on Thursday, February 28th at the Bartlettsville Christian Church.

Robert Davis – Springville
Robert Davis, 97, of Springville, passed away at 9 am on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Bloomington.
Born September 13, 1915 in Judah, he was the son of Martin Luther and Rose (Chambers) Davis. He married Lucille Mae McAlhaney and she survives. He had worked at Indiana Petroleum, Broglin Hardware, J & L Supply and was the owner of Davis Service Station in Oolitic. He was a member of the Avoca Baptist Church where he was a deacon for over sixty years and taught Sunday school. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II in the Philippines as a Sergeant from 1941 to 1945. He served with the W.P.A. and C.C.C.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille, of Springville; children, Donna Goddard and husband, Richard, Bob Davis and wife, Ann, all of Bloomington, Kent Davis and wife, Melinda of Oolitic; grandchildren, Christopher Goddard and wife, Jody, Heather Goddard, Jessi Schatzle and husband, Josh, Nathan Davis and wife, Jennifer, Matthew and Mark Davis; great grandchildren, Justin, Brandon and Levi Goddard, Davis and Josephine Schatzle and Hudson Davis; a sister-in-law, Delores McAlhaney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, David and Don; sisters, Ethel, Bonnie, Margaret and Elizabeth.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Wednesday, February 27th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Judah Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, February 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
