Jayme Faye Russell King – Bedford
Jayme Faye Russell King, 34, of Bedford, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013, at her home.
Born November 7, 1978, in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of James and Cindy (Bruner) McCreery. She married Brayden King on April 29, 2011; and he survives.
She was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School, Class of 1997 and had attended Ivy Tech, Bloomington, two years. She was currently employed as kennel manager, Animal Care Clinic, Bedford, and had attended First Church of God. She was a coach for the Lincoln Elementary Trojanettes.
Surviving are her husband, Brayden King, of Bedford; her parents, James and Cindy McCreery, of Bedford; two daughters, Kaylee Lynn and Emma Nicole Russell, of Fayetteville; one son, Noah James Russell, also of Fayetteville; two step-daughters, Madeleine and Lilliana King, Eureka; one brother, Warren Lynn McCreery and wife Sierra, of Springville; her maternal grandmother, Hellen “Lucy” and husband Earl T. Smith, of Brandenburg, KY; her maternal grandfather, Kenneth Bruner and wife Mary, also of Brandenburg, KY; one uncle and several aunts and cousins; four nephews, Michael McCreery, Landon New, Leo New and Wylie New; and one niece, Olivia McCreery.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013, at First Church of God, Bedford, with Bro. Travis Inman officiating. Entombment will be in Cresthaven Mausoleum. Friends may call from 3 pm to 8 pm Friday, January 25, 2013, at the First Church of God, 3131 W. 16th Street, Bedford.
Memorial contributions may be considered to a special fund for Jayme’s children, care of Bedford Federal Savings Bank.

Frances Lorene McCain Turpen – Bedford
Frances Lorene McCain Turpen, 96, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at 12:25 a.m. at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Bedford.
Born July 6, 1916 in Lawrence County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Clarence and Pearl (Peyton) McCain. She married Earl E. Turpen on May 24, 1935 in Brownstown, Indiana, and he preceded her in death. Frances was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was known for creating beautiful quilts for her family and others. She attended Dive Christian Church.
Surviving include her daughter, Ardus L. Smith, of Columbus; grandchildren, Gary David
Smith, of Versailles; Gregory Smith and wife Rosemary, of Madison, TN; Melani Smith-Weed, of Franklin, TN; Michelle M. Smith, of Bozeman, MT; Kimberly Turpen Greenlee, of Columbus, GA; Anthony Turpen, of Indianapolis; and Ayrika Turpen Williams, of Peoria, AZ; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Reynolds and Barbara and husband Jack Payton, both of Bedford; two brothers, Robert McCain and wife Betty, of Bedford and Kenneth McCain and wife Wanetta, of Elizabethtown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl in 1979; son, Jerry Lee Turpen in 1980; sisters, Ruth Rainey and Marie Jackson; brothers, Ernest McCain and Paul McCain; and son-in-law, Herman J. Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Friends may call on Friday from 4 pm to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice, The Salvation Army, or L.I.F.E. Food Pantry.

Dorothy J. Mallatt – Bedford
Dorothy J. Mallatt, 83, of Bedford, passed away at 11:23 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013, at I.U. Health, Bloomington Hospital.
Born March 3, 1929 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Hobart and Jennie (White) Spray. She married Donald E. Mallatt on January 7, 1951, in Lawrence Co. and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2001. She was a graduate of Shawswick High School with the Class of 1947. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Community Church. She held the longest (65 years) membership in the Fairview Ladies Aid and was a member of the Flatwoods Neighborhood Club. She was an avid seamstress and quilter, sharing her talents with many including the making of many puppy pillows, lap robes and kimonos for Riley Children’s Hospital.
Surviving are three daughters, Brenda and husband Leonard Neff, Donna and husband David Mills and Kristie and husband Tim Fleetwood, all of Bedford, and one son, Russell Mallatt, also of Bedford; four grandchildren, Lisa and husband Michael Stultz, Bedford, Shannon and husband Tom Graves, of Springville, Jenni Beyers, of Bedford and Michael Neff, of Bedford; one step-granddaughter, Brandi and husband Toby Webb, of Bedford; five great grandchildren, Colby, Halle, Bryson, Brayden and Kendall; two step-great grandchildren, Brittani and Traven; one sister, Mary Catherine Martin, of Bedford; one nephew, Duane Martin and wife Cindy; two nieces, Janice and husband of Mike Cain and Ann Thomson; and, several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Nadine Buchholz; one granddaughter, Kara Neff; and one niece, Vicki Martin.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with Pastor Lindy Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Acme Cemetery in Jackson County.
Friends may call on Saturday, January 26, 2013, from 3 pm to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be considered to the American Heart Association.

Nikki Collins – Bedford
Nikki Collins, 32, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at her home.
Born August 6, 1980 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, she was the daughter of Dominic and Karen (Ackerman) Bell. She married Cory Collins on November 17, 2005, and he survives. She was a graduate of West Washington High School, and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Bedford.
Surviving include her husband, Cory Collins, of Bedford; parents, Dominic and Karen Bell; grandmothers, Ruth Bell and Gayle Ackerman; four children: Cruze, Mia, Oakley and Griffin Collins; and one brother, Dominic Bell IV.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 25, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Fr. Rick Eldred officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, 4 pm to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
