The following obituaries were received for Tuesday –


William “Bill” James Lee – Shoals
William “Bill” James Lee, 83, of Shoals, passed away at his home at 5:09 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2012 with his wife Emily and daughter Diana by his side. Bill was born on February 2, 1929 in Lost River Township to Walter Lee and Edna (Ragsdale) Lee Wolf. He married Emily B. Lindley on October 13, 1950 at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Bedford.
Survivors include his wife Emily, of Shoals; daughters, Diana and husband Roy Key, of Bedford; Billie Kay and her husband Roy Terwiske, of Ireland, Shelly and husband Ron Allbright, of French Lick; three grandsons, Barrett Lee Allbright, Brent Terry and Bryant Trambaugh; 7 great grandchildren: Cassandra and Nicole Terry, David and Daniel Allbright, Kayla, Carson and Coen Trambaugh; 1 half brother, Lester Wolf, of Olney, Illinois.
Bill was active within the Shoals Community. Lee was a 57 a year member of the White River Masonic Lodge F&AM. He was a former prescient committeeman for southeast Halbert Township, served on the advisory board of Lost River Township and was a proud member for 59 years of Shoals American Legion Post 61 and V.F.W Post 8589. He served his country from 1950 to 1952 in the United States Army during the Korean War in the 101st Signal Battalion as a pole lineman behind enemy lines. He retired from National Gypsum Company after 30 years of service and also worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation and Crane Ammunition Depot following his retirement. He was a 1948 graduate of Shoals High School and a member of Wagoner’s Chapel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals. A Masonic memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial following in the Waggoner Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Quinn officiating. Shoals American Legion Post 61 will accord military graveside rites.
Ozella J. Mathis – Russell, PA.
Ozella J. Mathis, 93, of Russell, PA., formerly of Bedford, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born May 12, 1919 in Tunnelton, she was the daughter of Clifford and Ruth (Worthington) Scott.
She was married to Bill Mathis on May 13, 1939 and he preceded her in death on November 26, 1990. She was the retired Postmaster of Oolitic and a member of the American Business Women Associates.
Survivors include three daughters, Nedra Hert, of Russell, PA, Darlene and husband John Bough and Linda and husband Robert Hackler, both of Bedford; 8 grandchildren, Doug and wife Karen Hert and Randy Hert, both of Russell, PA.; Terri and husband Dave Ludwig, of Warren, PA., Noelle and husband Wes Clouse, of Noblesville, Scott and wife Amy Bough and Curt Hackler, both of Bedford, David Hackler and companion Dawn, of Springville and Karen Hackler, of Bedford; ten great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one brother, Tom Scott, of Michigan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Winford, Bill and Jack V. Scott; three sisters, Juanita Lovechuck, Evelyn Hoggatt and Bessie Risley and one granddaughter, Deanna Hackler.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Ferguson Lee Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Michael Lee McNeely – Mitchell
Michael Lee McNeely, 67, of Mitchell, passed away at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012, at IU Health Hospital Bedford.
Born February 22, 1945, in Mitchell, he was the son of Ivis and Mary Ann (Baughman) McNeely.
He retired from Verizon Phone Company in 2003. Mike was a US Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post No. 250. He graduated in 1963 from Mitchell High School.
Survivors include his daughter, Natalie and husband Alexander Fraser, of Marshall, Illinois;
grandchildren, Gabriele and Gage Fraser; brother, Hugh McNeely, of Indianapolis; sisters, Sujane Goldsby, of Mitchell; Mona McNeely, of Orleans, Joan Groene, of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Betty Tolbert and Marilyn Riley.
Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 26, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Bro. Mike Collins officiating. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. Thursday until the service at the funeral home.

Drayton Jaxan James Qualkenbush – Mitchell
Drayton Jaxan James Qualkenbush, infant son of James Qualkenbush and Kimberley (Line) Brown passed away at 2:40 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Survivors include his parents both of Mitchell.
No services are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of Day & Carter Mortuary.
