The following obituaries were received on Tuesday.


Guy E. Delphia – Bedford
Guy E. Delphia of Bedford passed away on Monday, July 25th at Monroe Hospital at the age of 71. Born in 1940 to Henry and Dorothy Delphia, he had been married to Melinda Burgess since 1987, was retired from Ford Motor Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1957 to 1961. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Donna LeClair and her husband Mark, Linda Watterson and her husband Joe and Marvella Hill; two sons, Charles Delphia and his wife Amber and Randall Delphia and his wife Becky; several grandchildren and one sister, Linda Clevenger. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Andy Delphia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, July 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter with burial to follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 3:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, July 27th at the funeral home.
Brian Keith Slate – Mitchell
Brian Keith Slate of Mitchell passed away on Sunday, July 24th at St. Vincent Hospital at the age of 49. Born in 1962 in Paoli to Ronald Slate and Betty Slate; he was a construction worker and was a 1982 graduate of Silver Creek High School. He is survived by his mother; one son, Dustin Slate; two sisters, Melissa Bunch and Christi Hicks and was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Mark Slate. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, July 27th at Fairview Cemetery with burial to follow. Visitation will not be held.
Martha J. Terrell – Bedford
Martha J. Terrell of Bedford passed away on Monday, July 25th at Garden Villa at the age of 87. Born in 1924 in Indianapolis to David and Clara Randall, she had been married to James E. Terrell, was a homemaker, and had been employed at Sarkes Tarzian and The Dollar Store. Martha was also a member of the First Assembly of God. She is survived by sons, James R. Terrell and Terry Dean Terrell; as well as several grandchildren and one sister, Betty Lou Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dick Randall and Don Randall; and one sister, Shirley Randall. Graveside services will be held at 9:30AM on Friday, July 29th at Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday at Chastain Funeral Home.
