The following obituaries were received on Monday.


Connie Ann York – Heltonville
Connie Ann York of Heltonville passed away on Saturday, May 14th at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital at the age of 52. Born in 1958 in Orange County to Willis Edward and Catherine York, she had been married to Harold Sears since 1977, was a homemaker and attended the Oolitic Baptist Church and formerly at the First Assembly of God Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Phillips and her husband Tom Jr., Kathy Amstutz and her husband Gary; one son, Robert Sears; several grandchildren; brothers, Ray, Charlie, David, Jerry, Cecil and Eddie York and Frank Parsons; as well as sisters, Debbie Neely, Rosemary Yother, Linda Ray, Patricia York and Marsha Webb. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one brother, Johnny York. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, May 19th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Lowder Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, May 18th and from 11:00AM until the hour of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Florence L. Norman – Bedford
Florence L. Norman of Bedford passed away on Monday, May 18th at her residence at the age of 93. Born in 1918 in Bedford to Grant and Amanda Norman, she had been married to Samuel Todd since 1934, was a homemaker and was a member of the Mundell Christian Church. She is survived by two sons, Richard Todd and Fred Todd; two daughters, Wilma Spencer and Dorothy Bauer; several grandchildren; as well as one sister, Blanche Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Glen and three sisters, Julie Katie and Naomi. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 18th at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mundell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home.
Vonda F. Baker – Springville
Vonda F. Baker of Springville passed away on Friday, May 13th at Methodist Hospital at the age of 82. Born in 1928 in Avoca to Pallas Nancie Childers, she had been married to Opal Baker since 1946 and had worked for Sarkes Tarzian and later retired from NSWC Crane. Vonda was also a member of the Cornerstone Worship Center. She is survived by one son, Mike Baker and his wife Anna; several grandchildren; one sister, Marcella Pancoast and her husband Charles; one daughter-in-law, Delores Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Kenneth Baker; three brothers, Winfred, Richard and Robert Childers; as well as one sister, Loretta. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, May 17th at the Cornerstone Worship Center with burial to follow in Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday, May 16th at Day & Carter Mortuary and from 10:00AM until the hour of service on Tuesday, May 17th at the funeral home.
