Gary Gene Salmon of Shoals passed away Sunday afternoon at the age of 73.
Born in 1936 in Martin County to Paul and Vernal Salmon, Gary was the owner of Gary’s Barber Shop, the Shoals Laundromat, worked for the BMV and Lundy Transport, was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts, 8 year member of the Martin County Council, 8 year member of the Shoals School Board, past member of the Shoals Town Board and Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife Betty, son Paul, and 1 grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held this afternoon at 2:00pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shoals with burial to follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is from 11:00am until time of service today at the church.
