Forrest “Ed” Bartlett, 81, Bedford

Forrest Bartlett of Bedford, known to friends and family as “Ed,” passed away Monday night at Stone Bridge Health Campus in Bedford at the age of 81.


Born in 1927 in Bedford to Kermit and Mary Alice Bartlett, Ed was a retired civil service employee at NSWC Crane, journalist for the Bedford Times-Mail, Indianapolis Star, Bloomington Herald Telephone, and Dayton, Ohio Journal, former secretary for the Bedford city plan commission, Navy veteran of World War II, teacher and assistant principal at Burris Junior High School and member of First Christian Church of Bedford.
He is survived by his wife Mary, son Phil, brother Bob, sister Pat, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill.
Graveside services will be held Friday afternoon at 3:30pm at Green Hill Cemetery with burial to follow.
No visitation is scheduled.
