Bernard May of Bedford passed away Wednesday morning, December 24, 2008 at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 82.
Born in 1926 in Lawrence County to parents Perry and Mary May, Bernard was retired from General Motors, and was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis, their son Michael, three grandchildren, Bernard, Tiffany, Robert, seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers John and Claude, and his sister Jaunita.
Private graveside services will be held at the green hill cemetery under the direction of Day & Carter Mortuary.
