Fred W. King of Mitchell passed away Saturday night at Community Hospital South in Greenwood at the age of 66.
Born in 1942 in Lawrence County to Hobart and Edith King, Fred was a certified accountant, and worked at Ford Town in Shoals, Regal Beloit, Ralph Rogers Group and McCullough Fabricating and was a member of Huron Baptist Church, Rurtarian Club, was a Boy Scout leader, chairman of the Huron Memorial Day Parade and member of South Lawrence Utility Board and Huron Alumni Association.
He is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Kimberly, Melissa, and Jennifer, brothers Phillip, Douglas, David, Warren, Claude and Mark, sisters Becki, Nancy, Netha and Jill, 9 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Michael and Vernon, brother Ted, and sisters Donna and Rose.
Services will be held Wednesday morning at the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow at Port William Cemetery.
Visitation will be tomorrow from 4:00 until 8:00pm and again from 9:00am until time of service Wednesday at Chastain.
