Carolyn J. Bowers of Bedford passed away Thursday night at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 79.
Born in 1928 in Hollywood, California to Charles and Clella Howard, Carolyn was a retiree of the Bedford Times-Mail, den leader, Sunday school teacher and caregiver.
She is survived by her sons William and Joel, daughter Elizabeth, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William, and sisters Mary Ellen and Shirley.
Services will be held this morning at 10:00am at the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
