Jackie M. Asbury of Mitchell passed away Friday evening at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 79.
Born in 1928 in Lawrence County to Herbert and Erma Asbury, Jackie was a retired truck driver for Architectural Stone in Bedford and Kern Trucking in Mitchell, US Navy veteran and attended 1st Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his sons William, Herbert, Harvey and James, daughters Amy, Julie and Lisa, brothers Robert and Jerry, sister Betty, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Lora.
Services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00am at Cresthaven Funeral Home with burial to follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be tomorrow from 3:00 until 8:00pm at Cresthaven.
