(BEDFORD) – Turner Contracting Inc. is the 2020 winner of BRI’s Bedford Christmas Around the Square Window Decorating Contest.
Twenty-five downtown businesses registered to participate in the contest in addition to several other storefronts that are dressed up for the season.
Judging was especially difficult this year because there are several unique and festive designs and nods to classic Christmas all around and near the Bedford Square.
This year, Becky Mason served as the judge of the contest. Here’s what she had to say about Turner Contracting Inc.
“The excitement that I started getting just looking at their window made me go back to my childhood. The windows are visions of a winter wonderland with lights sparkling everywhere and frosted trees hiding secrets of Christmas. They were frosty and magical. I enjoyed the snowballs and
the scenes they created with toy construction equipment. The scenes made me want to walk in the forest and throw a snowball or build a snowman. I hope that the community goes by there in the evening and takes in the twinkling lights and the winter scenes and truly loses themselves in a winter dream.”
Turner Contracting Inc will be presented with a Certificate of Excellence from Bedford Revitalization Inc. in addition to 50 radio commercials courtesy of 1340 AM WBIW, 105.5 WQRK, and Litefm 102.5 WPHZ.
Several other downtown highlights include the light display at Turpen & Deckard LLC, the gorgeous trees at Bedford Perk, the gnomes peeking through the windows at Stone Cottage, the classic Christmas and Ferris wheel at the Twelve Months of Christmas in addition to a constructed tree made out of stringed lights in front of Peddler’s Corner and a tree made out of books at Inklings Bookstore.
There are several more treasures to find throughout Downtown Bedford.
The Shop the Square contest continues through Saturday, December 19th. Participating merchants have storefront signs displayed indicating that you can earn an entry simply by visiting their store.
Those who make a purchase from any of our participating merchants will earn a bonus entry into the drawing. Online purchases from participating downtown merchant locations are also eligible.
The winner of the drawing will receive a Downtown Merchant holiday gift basket full of items donated by our downtown community valued at several hundred dollars. The winner will be contacted and announced publicly on Tuesday, December 22nd.
