Bedford Parks Department Upcoming Events

(BEDFORD) – The following is a list of Bedford Park Departments upcoming events:

Yoga

Trudy Brown, yoga instructor, will continue to offer her beginner’s and continuing yoga classes this fall.

The beginner’s class is a low impact exercise and stretching program that is great for all ages. The class will meet on Tuesday’s from 7 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. at the Thornton Shelter for 6 weeks; beginning February 4th, the second session will begin on March 31st.

The fee is $42 for the 6 week session and is payable at the Parks Office or over the phone by credit or debit card. Pre-registration is required for the beginner’s class.

Trudy also offers a continuing yoga class for participants who have completed the beginner’s course. This class meets on Thursdays from 7 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. at the Red Brick.

The fee for the continuing yoga sessions may be paid to Trudy at the class or at the Parks Office and the fee is as follows: $7 per session if paid in monthly increments or $10 if paid per session.

Father Daughter Sweetheart Dance

Put on your dancing shoes, dads and take your daughter(s) out for a special night of dancing and fun.

This event will be held on Feb. 7th at First Baptist Church from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Kore Photography will be taking pictures on-site at this event. Picture packages and prices will be available when you pick up your tickets.

Tickets are $20 for a father/daughter pair and $25 for two or more daughters.

There will be a dance-off, air-guitar, and hula hoop contest.

You can purchase tickets now through February 5th at the parks office.

Park  Outdoor series 

  • January 28th – The Feldun Purdue Ag Center                                                
  • February 25th – Invasive to Native Plant Species
  • March 24th – Maple Syrup     
  • April 28th – Hiking and Volkswalking for the April Park Outdoors Programs                                           
  • All classes are free to attend and will be held at Wilson Park Shelter beginning at 6 p.m. RSVP at the Parks Office

Mother Son Nerf Wars

Join us for our first Mother/Son Boot Camp on March 6th at the First Baptist Church from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Monday, February 3rd. The cost is $20 Mother/Son $25 Mother w/ 2 or more sons.

Moms you are included in all of this fun. This is adaptable to boys of all ages. Come decked out in your favorite camo/army and nerf gear. Staff will provide bullets, if you would like to bring your own bullets you MUST USE the elite bullets. NO battery-powered or motorized guns.

Snacks and drinks will be provided through the night.
